On July 28, 2002 Jessica's life tragically ended while on duty in the City of Hazel Park, Michigan.  Donations started coming in from agencies, family, friends, residents and businesses in the local area.  The family decided to do something to remember and honor Jessica as well as benefit the things she loved; animals and law enforcement. Therefore, the Jessica Nagle-Wilson Charitable Foundation was formed.  All monies received go directly to the foundation.  Board members receive no compensation and work strictly on a volunteer basis.

Below are donations made by the foundation in Jessica’s memory.

Major sponsor of the Michigan Fallen Heroes Memorial, Oakland County.
• Purchased lighting for the Hazel Park Fallen Heroes Memorial.
• Donation to local law enforcement officers in need.
• Donations to various local law enforcement honor guards.
• Annual sponsor of the MI-COPS Euchre Tournament.
• Annual FOP Lodge 130 Golf Outing Sponsor.
• Donation to the Royal Oak Animal Shelter.
• Donation to Hawkeye and Friends Animal Shelter.
• Annual scholarship at Fitzgerald High School.
• Jessica Nagle Wilson Memorial Scholarship at Ferris State University.

Because of Jessica’s love of animals and her desire to become a K-9 handler, the Foundation has set up an annual grant to be awarded to a department looking for funds in order to implement a K-9 program.  The Foundation has awarded the first grant in the amount of  $15,000 to the City of Swartz Creek towards the purchase and training of their first K-9 dog.
